Elle Magazine held a contest in which it's readers had to gave themselves a makeover. One lucky winner was flown out to New York City to complete the self-made makeover and get treated by the beauty experts. The readers did a great job at transforming themselves. The winner, pictured in this photograph, went from blonde to brunette and looks great.
One quick way to completely change your look is to go darker, although you have to be careful not to go too dark for you skin tone. Not everyone can pull off the pitch black locks that Monica Bellucci pulls off so beautifully. The Elle winner now has a chestnut brown haircolor with what looks like a few auburn highlights. This color is the perfect choice to complete her transformation from blonde to brunette.
Dark hair is sexy and daring. Brown is no longer considered boring. As you can see by the Elle contest winner, her brown hair really complements her skin tone and makes her blue eyes pop. You can brighten up dull brown hair by adding warm or cool hues depending on the effect that you are after. A good choice for a more subtle change, I suggest trying out L'Oreal Paris Natural Match. The line is aimed at creating a very natural look and the ingredients are not as harsh as other haircolors. It may seem daunting to make such a drastic change to oneself and if you are worried about color choice you should always get suggestions from your hair stylist. For those who are brave enough to do it yourself try Natural Match.
